Hermès' Birkin, Chanel's 2.55, Fendi's Baguette, and, naturally, Dior's Lady Dior. When it comes to It-bag wish lists naturally we adore the timeless styles, but there's no denying that when we hear news of a stone-cold classic getting a gentle, contemporary revamp, our ears prick up.

This season's must-have accessory comes courtesy of Dior. The maison's creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri has reimagined Lady Dior, the iconic bag style which first launched in 1995, and featured her creation in a campaign starring Monegasque royal Beatrice Borromeo.

The Italian journalist and wife of Pierre Casiraghi, the grandson of Grace Kelly, appears in the video campaign alongside the Lady 95.22 bag.

First unveiled at the label's autumn-winter 22-23 ready-to-wear show, the sleek bag harks back to the year of its origin, while simultaneously making a contemporary statement.

It features a "subtly curved silhouette", as well as structured charm-adorned top handles, which are intended to evoke "the lucky-charms of Monsieur Dior".

"Subtle resonances are woven, like a tribute to the special ties uniting Dior and this extraordinary ambassador," the brand wrote. "An ode-manifesto to the power of fashion as a perpetual source of inspiration and self-affirmation."

The Dior ambassador praised the style's eternal quality within the video, describing it as "very, very elegant".

"It's also fine to just go out for dinner without feeling overdressed or exaggerated. It's very versatile as a bag," Beatrice noted.

The campaign release comes just after the Monegasque royal put in a seriously stylish front row appearance at Dior's Paris SS23 Haute Couture Week show.

Staged at Paris' Musèe Rodin, the Josephine Baker-inspired show championed female luminaries from history and featured stunning draped velvet evening wear alongside shiny floral brocade coats and mesh fringed maxis.

Beatrice exuded 1930s vintage glamour in a light grey woven cape with a contrasting trim, layered over a sheer long-sleeved shirt and teamed with knee-high boots.
