Duchess Kate's first engagements of 2015 confirmed

The Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, will undertake her first two public engagements of the year in January, it was confirmed on Tuesday. In a series of tweets Clarence House confirmed that the Duchess will be undertaking two appearances on Thursday 15 and Friday 16 January. Kate is first scheduled to visit Barlby Primary School in London on Thursday 15 January, where she will officially name The Clore art room as part of her work as Patron of charity The Art Room.

"The Duchess of Cambridge is Patron of @TheArtRoomUK which offers art as therapy to young people who are facing challenges in their lives" Clarence House tweeted. The next day, Kate will "celebrate the dedicated work of foster carers" at an event hosted by The Fostering Network. It will be a busy couple of weeks for Kate, as she celebrates her 33rd birthday on Friday 9 January.

The Duchess of Cambridge will carry out two engagements in January

The royal shows no sign of slowing down as she enters the last few months of her second pregnancy as in recent weeks she has hosted her first family Christmas with Prince William, along with carrying out their first official visit to the United States since 2011. Kate holds a number of charitable patronages including Royal Patron of East Anglia's Children's Hospices, The National Portrait Gallery and SportsAid. The Duchess is also a volunteer for the Scouts Association and surprised children at one group in London when she paid them a visit in December.
