Kate Middleton and Prince William head to Scotland with Prince Charles for an official visit

Kate Middleton and Prince William are heading north to Scotland for their next official visit. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be sure to wrap up warm as they join the Prince Charles in East Ayrshire for the royal engagement.William, Kate and grandfather-to-be Charles will open the new Tamar Manoukian Outdoor Centre at Dumfries House on 4 April, when the Duchess will be around six months pregnant.

"Their Royal Highnesses will be greeted by children from the uniformed youth services represented by Youth United," Clarence House announced. "Each unit will demonstrate skills and compete in an obstacle race and the event will conclude with a fly past by three Typhoons of 6 Squadron RAF Leuchars."William and Kate, who hold the Scottish titles The Earl and Countess of Strathearn, will arrive in Glasgow on Thursday 4 April and return to England the following day. While in Scotland the Duke and Duchess will also carry out duties without Prince Charles, who is known in the northern country as the Duke of Rothesay, including a visit to Glasgow's Emirates Arena, a facility for young homeless people and the Quarriers Stopover Project.The prospective parents will also visit the Donald Dewar Leisure Centre to launch a project for their Royal Foundation called Coach Core, which aims to inspire and train young sports coaches.

The royal trio often spend time in Scotland, especially to spend time at the royal residence at Balmoral. They also attended Zara Phillips' wedding to Mike Tindall in the Scottish capital of Edinburgh in 2011.Kate was also present in July 2012 when husband William was made Knight of the Thistle by the Queen at St Giles Cathedral.
