Rod Stewart is hands-on dad in Sardinia where Geri's canoodling with new beau

As Rod Stewart and his son Alistair crouched in the sand playing with the two-year-old's cowboys and Indians set it was hard to know who was having the most fun.

The Maggie May singer was helping keep his lad entertained during a family holiday on the Italian Isle of Sardinia. Despite being 64 and already having several grown-up children the musician has clearly lost none of his touch and could give dads half his age a run for their money if Alistair's absorption in their activities was anything to go by.

After a bit of quality father/son bonding over the sandy 'Western' action, Rod and Al joined the rocker's 38-year-old wife Penny Lancaster Stewart back at the beach-side sun beds. There, mindful of the blistering sun, the blonde model-turned-snapper made sure Alistair had his sun hat on before he got stuck into some serious sand castle building.

The couple, who will celebrate their second wedding anniversary on June 16, are keen to add to their family. They recently revealed they've been trying to give Alistair a sibling for over a year.

Rod and Penny aren't the only ones relaxing at the moment on Sardina – a popular celeb hotspot already visited by Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo this month.

Geri Halliwell is enjoying a break there with her new boyfriend Henry Beckwith, London aristocrat and cousin of HELLO! writer and socialite Tamara Beckwith.

The Spice Girl, who was showing off her trim physique in a white bikini, looked particularly smitten as she and her new love walked hand in hand in the sunshine, before settling down to soak up some rays.

The 36-year-old has apparently been telling pals that Henry, who she's been dating since March, is "the one". A friend told a newspaper this week: "Things seem to be moving very fast indeed."
