The Cannes Film Festival isn't just about the amazing fashion – the stars also pull out all the stops when it comes to their hair and make-up looks. Aishwarya Rai at the Carol premiere

Aishwarya, 41, wowed on the red carpet at the premiere of Carol in a dazzling emerald green Elie Saab gown with de Grisogono jewellery. All eyes were on the former Miss World, who chose a colourful make-up look, with green eyeliner on her bottom lid to match her embellished gown and a slick of a burgundy lipstick. She looked as if she could have just stepped out of old Hollywood with her glossy locks sideswept into flawless waves.

Aishwarya was not the only fashionista who caught the attention of beauty addicts everywhere. Sienna Miller showed off her gothic side as she arrived at the star-studded event. Never one to shy away from making a statement on the red carpet, the American Sniper actress showcased her edgy beauty credentials, styling her blonde bob into an elegant halo braid. As fresh-faced as ever with her radiant skin, Sienna opted for minimal make-up save for a touch of mascara and purple lipstick.

Karlie Kloss also made waves on the red carpet when she showed off her natural beauty with minimal make-up at the opening ceremony of the festival. The 22-year-old wore her blonde locks down in a sleek and straight style and added a hint of pale pink blusher.

Later in the week, former Victoria's secret angel Doutzen Kroes showed off her supermodel status as she arrived for the premiere of Sicario. Her blonde tresses were slicked back into a wet look, and she rocked a red carpet classic – the statement red lip. Going for full blown glamour, Doutzen went for dramatic eye make-up with dark eyeliner and long eyelashes
