Heathrow has released its first ever Christmas advert, and the story of two bears making it home for Christmas is guaranteed to bring a tear to your eye!

The advert follows two older teddy bears – aptly named Mr and Mrs Bair - as they enjoy their flight and are taken care of by the staff at Heathrow, who help them with their coats and suitcases as they make their way through the airport, picking up treats at Duty Free and hitching a ride on a buggy to make their trip easier.

But it is the ending which is a real tearjerker! The two bears leave the airport and look around for their family, they are greeted by their grandchildren and turn into humans as the tagline reads: "Coming home, the best gift of all".

Viewers were quick to comment on the sweet video, with one joking: "Who left these onions here?"

Another added: "The others have helicopters, snowmobiles, big song-and-dance numbers… and you tell a simple love story with no dialogue, set entirely inside an airport, and it's glorious. Subtle, sweet, earnest, and quintessentially British - the most warm-hearted and honest commercial I've seen in years. Thank you, and happy Christmas."

Heathrow's Twitter account has also been encouraging viewers to tweet if they have any sweet reunion stories of their own that have taken place at the airport, and one person replied: "Haven't been home for 9 years But I'm coming home for this year."

"My son's home from Australia too, if he wasn't this ad would've killed me," another joked.

Heathrow's ad has followed other tearjerker Christmas adverts including the Marks and Spencer trailer, where Mrs Claus helps out a little boy called Jake who wants to give his sister a happy Christmas, and the Sainsburys advert, where James Corden voices a doting dad who wants to find time to spend with his family over Christmas time.
