Vanessa Bryant has warned her fans of a scam that's been doing the rounds, claiming that her late husband Kobe was a "cancer victim" who relied on CBD products.
Taking to Instagram, she told her followers not to believe the online article, which features People magazine's logo and has a link to a third party website.

The article claims Kobe wanted to give out his "little helper" – his favourite CBD oil – to his fans. In his will, he supposedly pledged to send one free bottle to anyone in need; all that is asked by The Kobe & Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation is that buyers pay a shipping fee.

The article also claimed that Kobe, who was tragically killed in a helicopter crash with his daughter Gigi one year ago, was also a cancer victim. It featured a fake quote from Kobe that read: "When I got my diagnosis, I was devastated. And when you get into the Hall of Fame, there's this pressure to never show a sad side.

"My manager pointed me to CBD Oil, which I admit I was sceptical of. Sometimes these alternative medicines sound like a bunch of mumbo jumbo, but I was blown away by the results. I never knew something natural could have such a powerful effect."
Vanessa warns fans of the online scam
Vanessa shared screenshots of the fake article, with the caption: "LIES! Don't get SCAMMED. Kobe NEVER USED CBD. @people doesn't have anything to do with this either. (Pay attention to the fake website link)." The online scam will have been a new blow to Vanessa and her family, who marked the one-year death anniversary of Kobe and Gigi last Tuesday.
Vanessa is doing everything she can to keep her family's spirits up and on the eve of the sad milestone, she celebrated Kobe and Gigi by taking her three daughters to a tubing park that the family used to visit together. Keeping their memory alive, Vanessa and her girls enjoyed racing down a mountain – a tradition she used to do with Kobe.
"Same tubing park where Kobe and I brought all of our girls to when they were little," she wrote on one post, captioning another: "Missing my babies. Wish Kob and Gigi were with us. #FindyourReason #Traditions #Memoriesformygirls."
